How to request your official contribution statement

The contribution statement is the single most useful document in a cross-border pension file: it is the institution's own view of your record, and every estimate or claim should be built on it rather than on memory.
Identify the document and the identity method
Italy issues the estratto conto contributivo via SPID or CIE, Germany the Versicherungsverlauf through an activated online account, Spain the informe de vida laboral with Cl@ve, and France the relevé de carrière through FranceConnect.
Expect different waiting times
Portals with electronic identity return the PDF in minutes. Schemes that post an activation code, as in Germany, can take one to three weeks before you can download anything, so start early.
Check it, then correct it
Read the statement period by period against your own timeline. Missing or wrong periods are corrected through a formal request — an RVPA in Italy, a Kontenklärung in Germany, a rectificación in Spain — with payslips or contracts attached.

- Is the contribution statement free?
- Yes. National institutions provide it free of charge to the insured person, both online and, on request, by post.
- Which version should I upload — standard or certified?
- Upload the certified version when the country offers one, such as the Italian ECOCERT. It carries legal value and is the version institutions accept as proof in a claim.
- Can I get a statement from a country I no longer live in?
- Yes. Entitlement to your record does not depend on residence. If you cannot pass electronic identification from abroad, every institution also accepts a postal request with a copy of your ID.
